Make a Donation

Running a successful campaign requires financial resources to identify and reach out to new supporters, organize events, make signs, etc. Please consider joining the Victory Fund or making a one-time donation to my nomination campaign.

Thank you very much for your support, financial contribution and generosity!

Join the Victory Fund

As a potential nomination candidate, to be eligible to file nomination papers and seek the nomination to represent Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston as the Liberal candidate in the next federal election, the Liberal Party of Canada requires that I sign up at least 25 new Victory Fund members.

The Victory Fund is a monthly giving program that starts at $10 per month – $5 to the Liberal Party of Canada and $5 to the Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston Electoral District Association. As a Victory Fund member, your Liberal Party membership will automatically be renewed each year ensuring you maintain your voting rights. In addition, these funds help the Liberal Party of Canada and your local Liberal Electoral District Association to plan for the upcoming election.

Make a One-time Donation to My Nomination Campaign

We must pay a fee to submit nomination papers and we must spend to run a nomination campaign should there be a contested nomination race in the riding.  All donations and expenses for Michelle’s nomination must be handled by her financial agent, Scott Hortop. Donations can be made either by Interac e-transfer or by cheque.

E-transfer donation: to f.r.scott.hortop@gmail.com.  Please ensure if you send an e-transfer that you include your full first and last names (initials are not acceptable), home address, email and telephone number in the message box or in a separate email to Scott, so the appropriate receipt may be issued to you.

OR

Cheque donation:  payable to “Scott Hortop, Financial Agent” and mail/deliver it to the following address:

Scott Hortop, Financial Agent
4925 March Road,
Almonte, Ontario
K0A 1A0

We can also arrange for the pick up of cheques if needed or you may give your cheque directly to Michelle’s financial agent, Scott Hortop, at a meet and greet or other nomination campaign event.

Joint Account? If funds are being sent from a joint account, the person sending the e-transfer or signing the cheque will be recorded as having made the donation, unless written correspondence, signed by all account holders, is received attributing the donation otherwise.

Unused Funds: Should Michelle not be successful in securing the nomination, all unused funds raised by her nomination campaign will be turned over to the Lanark–Frontenac–Kingston Electoral District Association.

Note: While my nomination campaign does need donations, only donations to the Party or the Riding Association, such as through the Victory Fund, will qualify for a tax receipt. Direct donations to nomination campaigns are not eligible by law.
